FTAC – MEC – Nix Jealousy – Sub Enraged Beneath the Boot of Fascist Systems

Palestine in the 19th Century had a limited fixed or in place population that would then respond to the development of an expanding Jewish agricultural economy. Talking up jealousy serves convenience in that it may be easier to comprehend and imagine — and we do so all the time — than the hamstrung state of being held powerless within an autocratic and totalitarian system. Jealousy may be the latch that opens a channel for rage; to my thinking, however, the source of that same rage may be broadly distributed political impotence and suffocation as stage managed by Arab leaders.

Gloating, jealousy, and simmering work together.

In fact, for storytelling, those three suffice for comic panels and storyboards — king of the mountain, the scrambling underdog, the fury of effort to claim defend and claim the hill would seem eternal, and yet beneath that template is simply the fact the the powerful in autocratic states manage the survival of others through the caprice and the grace or denial of their favor and patronage.

The prompt had to do with response to the success of others (http://www.prageruniversity.com/Political-Science/Do-You-Pass-the-Israel-Test.html#.U70n65RdV8F). Perhaps for empathy, perhaps for my humanitarian rejection of the self-flattering adoption of the pioneer outlook — that same “myself against the world” that fits the personality that becomes the powerful malignant narcissist — I felt the difference in outlook between that and “myself with the world” in a world deeply confused by and mired in suffering.

In the URL just noted, the speaker appears to set up the familiar model: Industrious Smart Jews vs Dumb Lazy Arabs / Winning Achievers vs Jealous Losers.

The model itself is egregious in that while it speaks to appearance overlooks the political conditions in which the vast majority of Arabs struggle with power in their own right beneath the architecture of deeply fascistic regimes.  Dispense with “dumb lazy” and replace with leaders who exhibit themselves as supremely selfish and frequently stupid as regards their regard for others, especially the mass of their constituents over whom the same often exert extensive and absolute control.

It should go without saying that the same, whether somewhat secular dictatorship or religious monolith, deflect toward the Jews and the House of Israel the angers and resentments that they themselves provoke and sustain.

I should think it counterproductive for Jews to gloat before such downtrodden while ignoring the structural and true contributing agents to their plight.

My comment continues with a note from the Middle East Forum (from 2003) on the subject of Palestinian demographics.

“The great economic development of the coastal plains—largely due to Jewish immigration—was accompanied both in 1922-1931 and in 1931-1944 by a much stronger increase of the Muslim and Christian populations in this region than that registered in other regions. This was probably due to two reasons: stronger decrease in mortality of the non-Jewish population in the neighborhood of Jewish areas and internal migration toward the more developed zones”

Cynically Scripted? East Jerusalem Riots

Hate, mindless hate, manipulated, ignorant, pointless would seem to course through East Jerusalem at the moment.

While police continue to investigate the murder of 16-year-old Mohammed Abu Khdeir, rioting crowds have erupted in East Jerusalem on the assumption — no evidence — that the crime must relate directly to revenge associated with the murder of three Israeli teens.

Posted to YouTube yesterday:

Posted to YouTube about an hour ago.

The basis: martyrdom, for the sake of martyrdom.

Without investigation, without process in the courts, the explanations for the murder are many, including a Palestinian false-flag operation to provoke and condone today’s rioting.

Prove it’s not so.

Prove the Palestinians now rioting are not being played into doing just that by their own handlers.

No investigation?

No proof of anything.

A confection celebrates the kidnapping of two Israeli and one Israeli-American teenagers. The photo had been posted by the IDF prior to today’s discovery of the bodies.

As I type, there are ugly murder stories all over the web, from ISIS in Iraq to children raped and swung from tree limbs with their own scarves (India). Some not Jewish, not Israeli, not American must wonder why these get so much attention (three dead Jews — who cares?). The answer is these would have cared about others far from themselves and would have been part, one way or another, of inspiring good and justice and then been a part of drawing down all that other injustice, mayhem, and murder in the world.

That’s a lot to suggest . . . perhaps a lot to promise . . .but I think it comes with the territory, from Pharaoh to now.

I don’t like everything I read about the Jews and Israel. As a matter of fact, I was earlier this afternoon reading about Sabra and Shatila and the IDF both controlling access to those camps and standing aside as Christian Phalangist militia slaughtered in that Palestinian refugee camp old men, women, and children. That event was not among the Jewish State’s finer moments (September 1982), but here’s the thing: perhaps we learn even from — or starting with — our own failings and missteps and trespasses. I would not expect as much from ISIS today as it has indulged itself in the most wanton orgies of killing; Hamas seems equally unable to repair or restrain itself or related loose energy running around the Gaza Strip (which over the weekend launched multiple rockets against Israel). Name them all, they seem to raise their children with a murderous hate for others, Jews first (thank you very much), and when their children do as they have been trained . . . .

I am wondering: are we — is the whole world — going to see celebration photos this time?

I’ve no further comment.

At this point, it is quite possible to believe Meshaal when he says that he knew nothing about the kidnapping and that he has no idea what happened to the teens. But Meshaal and the leaders of Hamas have a problem. As long as they don’t denounce the Qawasmeh family, and as long as they let the family take them down a dead end time after time, the leaders of the movement will be forced to pay the price.

Happy Birthday, Israel! – Link to HuffPost Article by David Harris

There’s a story that God became so furious with the sorry state of the world that he announced a new flood would engulf the planet in two weeks. In response, the French president told the nation that, as the end was near, there’d be no more work and everyone was encouraged to enjoy la joie de vivre. The Italian prime minister announced that, with only 14 days left, all Italians should take full advantage of la dolce vita. Meanwhile, the Israeli prime minister informed the Israeli people: “We have exactly two weeks to learn how to live underwater.”

Why Is Iran Shipping Arm to Hamas and Hezbollah?

Why Is Iran Shipping Arm to Hamas and Hezbollah?

On March 20, 2014, the U.S and the U.K. called on the United Nations to investigate Israel’s latest claim that it seized an Iranian arms shipment that amounts to an Iranian violation of Security Council sanctions.

This development compels renewed scrutiny of Iran’s intention behind its weapons shipments to Hamas and Hezbollah, particularly since Israel thwarted several prior Iranian arms shipments, among them the Karine A (January 2002), the Francorp (November 2009), and the Victoria (March 2011). Other countries, such as Turkey, and Cyprus and Italy have also intercepted Iranian arms shipments to the region.”

The piece is short but points out how cynically Ayatollah Khamenei uses language with what might be observed as “talk over talk” — two levels: the lower consisting of intention, e.g., ” Iran’s Army and Revolutionary Guard “will be responsible not only for guarding and preserving the frontiers of the country, but also for fulfilling the ideological mission of jihad in God’s way; that is, extending the sovereignty of God’s law throughout the world” — and that would be “God’s law” according to the despotic Iranian regime; and the upper level consists of the masking of intention: “. . . Iran will “scrupulously refrain[ing] from all forms of interference in the internal affairs of other nations, it supports the just struggles of the oppressed against the tyrants in every corner of the globe.”

Is there an Orwell in the house?

🙂

Those who would be clever often prove most talented at making themselves transparent.

Iran Smiles, Hamas Beats the Drum, and Kerry Wears a Pink Tie

According to the IDF caption beneath the above video:

Published on Mar 24, 2014 — Yesterday the Prime Minister of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, gave a feverish speech in front of thousands of supporters at Saraya Square in the Gaza Strip. The message: Palestinians should not and will not stop fighting through terrorist acts against the State of Israel. Haniyeh encourages Palestinians to attack innocent Israelis and he explicitly outlines a new plan to use tunnels on an offensive against Israel. His speech also refers to striking Tel Aviv as thousands of supporters cheer him on.

Never mind that.

Take another look at the crowd and the lime-vested crowd controllers.

Listen again to the voice of the “Great Leader” Ismail Haniyeh.

Attend also the beating of the drum.

* * *

Behind the scenes:

“Of course, the developments in the region have accelerated the return of relations between Hamas and Iran,” the source added. “Perhaps the most important [of those developments] is Hamas’ harsh break with Egypt after the coup and the tension between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The [tension] has helped warm the relationship between Doha and Tehran, and that has cast a shadow over Hamas in a positive way.”

Yes, sir, Iran’s resumed doling out major moolah to Hamas and, ta da, Hamas is back in business!

* * *

Last week, Washington Post conservative blogger Jennifer Rubin suggested the State Department’s Wendy Sherman do some institutional soul searching with a few questions foremost:

  • Has Iran made a single concrete concession since the interim deal?
  • Why, if Iran is still seeking contraband, are additional sanctions not warranted?
  • Why is the Iran economy recovering all of the sudden?”

CNN: John Kerry Comments on Iran Deal – November 24, 2013.

You heard him, but just in case you prefer reading (0:00 –> 0:16):

This is only the first step, but it is a first step that guarantees that while you take the second step, and move towards a comprehensive agreement, Iran’s fundamentals of its program are not able to progress.”

Up top: Palestinian Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh rouses his controlled crowd to a murderous pitch.  “Hamas is the canon and we are the ammunition!”

Down below in the blue sport coat and the pink tie, Mr. Kerry on the deal with Iran, which statement his mouth turns out in gobbledygook: ” . . . while you take the second step . . . Iran’s fundamentals of its program are not able to progress.”

The hell you say!

Nice hair, Mr. Kerry.

Nice tie.

What I Have Said About the Jews

My people, not that I speak for them, I nonetheless describe as a "global ethnic commune with its heart in Jerusalem and soul in the Land of Israel."

We have never given up on God, nor have we ever given up on one another.

Many things we have given up, but no one misses, say, animal sacrifice, and as many things we have kept, so we have still to welcome our Sabbath on Friday at sunset and to rest all of Saturday until three stars appear in the sky.

Most of all, through 5,773 years, wherever life has taken us, through the greatest triumphs and the most awful tragedies, we have preserved our tribal identity and soul, and so shall we continue eternally.

Anti-Semitism / Anti-Zionism = Signal of Fascism

I may suggest that anti-Zionism / anti-Semitism are signal (a little bit) of fascist urges, and the Left -- I'm an old liberal: I know my heart -- has been vulnerable to manipulation by what appears to me as a "Red Brown Green Alliance" driven by a handful of powerful autocrats intent on sustaining a medieval worldview in service to their own glorification. (And there I will stop).
One hopes for knowledge to allay fear; one hopes for love to overmatch hate.

Too often, the security found in the parroting of a loyal lie outweighs the integrity to be earned in confronting and voicing an uncomfortable truth.

Those who make their followers believe absurdities may also make them commit atrocities.

Positively Orwellian: Comment Responding to Claim that the Arab Assault on Israel in 1948 Had Not Intended Annihilation

“Revisionism” is the most contemptible path that power takes to abet theft and hide shame by attempting to alter public perception of past events.

On Press Freedom, Commentary, and Journalism

In the free world, talent -- editors, graphic artists, researchers, writers -- gravitate toward the organizations that suit their interests and values. The result: high integrity and highly reliable reportage and both responsible and thoughtful reasoning.

This is not to suggest that partisan presses don't exist or that propaganda doesn't exist in the west, but any reader possessed of critical thinking ability and genuine independence -- not bought, not programmed -- is certainly free to evaluate the works of earnest reporters and scholars.
