As long as Israel acknowledges that the Palestinian Arabs’ national claims to statehood in Judea-Samaria are authentic and legitimate, Israel can never be secure externally, or internally.

For complying with those claims will make the country indefensible over time against threats that emanate beyond the Green Line, and ensure that the embers of incipient domestic revolt within it will continue to glow menacingly, capable of bursting into flames at any moment in response to legitimate actions taken to deal with those threats.

On Monday, we awoke to news that four worshipping Jews, one of them a British national, were murdered by Palestinian terrorists as they prayed in their Jerusalem synagogue. Hamas praised this atrocity, as it praises every terror attack in which the victim is an Israeli Jew. There should be absolutely no doubt: Hamas’s recent statements celebrating terror attacks are entirely consistent with its charter, which calls for the murder of Jews.

Khaled Mashaal has accrued wealth estimated above $2.5 billion in this business.

Ismail Haniyeh similarly now enjoys a reputation as a billionaire.

Gaza’s residents and those settled around Ramallah should understand this criminality pursued in their name diminishes their name.

Given political intimidation under the rules promoted by political mafia, have any choice?

Perhaps “any” have choice every morning, every minute, every day, and every day becomes more clear, more informed, more truthful.

Do books get in to the Arab enclaves within Israel?

Conversation?

Blog posts?

I don’t know.

However, unless our communicating systems are closed or deeply filtered, they are open and free – and free of manipulation.  Curiosity may face a wilderness in information, but all the parts and particles of authentic stories — not the manipulations calculated with libels, obfuscations, omissions associated with lies that either pander or threaten — about themselves are there for looking.  Fear should not direct the eyes or conscience.

Israel’s defense doctrine has the People going their own way until forced to responds. Biblically: the Jews leave Egypt; they don’t conquer it. 🙂 As an ethnolinguistic cohort — that is in large part what a “people” is — the Jews have had a homeland — the “Land of the Hebrews” — and they have it again. The adversarial Arab spin has been to invert and mirror the legitimate in an astonishing attempted theft using very people left scattered on the field as their armies retreated, and the same, armies and states, have treated the refugees as aliens ripe for exploitation, manipulation, segregation, and, most evil, weaponization.

When an AQ-type group infiltrated Nahr al-Bared (2007) to defend all of Lebanon from “Israeli aggression” — a good example of the “paranoid delusional reflection of motivation” — Lebanese Defense Forces had the camp filtered and bussed while it attacked and razed the same right down to its underground where the last holdouts were finally pinned.

More recently, neither Arab Nationalist al-Assad nor Arab Islamist al-Nusra appeared much interested in the wellbeing of the Palestinian residents of Yarmouk, which were cordoned, starved, used as human shields. http://www.unrwa.org/crisis-in-yarmouk Arafat managed to leave this world with millions of dollars for his widow; Mashaal remains in it with an estimated fortune above $2.5 billion.

Tyrants are not leaders.

Tyrants are takers.

Call them “kleptocratic”:, “piratical”, “autocratic”, “authoritarian”, their profession of being about “their people” (who confirms them?) effectively screens the deepest exploitation of the same. For deflection, anti-Semitism works, for if the tyrant can get his people to blame the Jews, for a while or a long time — especially if the press is controlled and critics are eliminated — the people won’t turn around to dwell on the evil of those who led them astray.

In peace, inhabitations, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, or other become normal commercial and tax generating centers _for those lucky enough to live in peace with their near neighbors_. That’s where the true end of the Gaza City and Ramallah stories reside. The surrounding Arab world has an even larger and more difficult story to outgrow, and it’s suffering between the ghosts of national socialism and a darkly romantic yearning for a long ago yesterday.


The presence of Israel is not on “Arab lands”, much less Persian ones.

The hatred of the Jews is not what drives the “middle east conflict”.

Sorry.

It only looked that way for a long time.

“Assad or Burn It” — Bashar al-Assad’s message to his subjugated people is what one sees across the collection of Arab interlocutors for the refugees of 1948: excessive cruelty and heartless, call it “sociopathic”, greed and venality on the part of leaders who make a lot of money — Arafat’s millions, Haniyeh and Mashaal’s billions, Khamenei’s Setad (estimated value: +$90 billion) — manipulating the emotions of vulnerable, infantilized, ultimately enslaved constituents.

Take the few leaders who most sustain the middle east conflict, and survey their behavior and their state governments for corruption, cruelty, injustice, inhumanity, piracy and tyranny.

As much appears to be on the web to be seen by way of news every day, numbers reported by the watching organizations, the blogs of some daring Arab souls.

I am an authentic pro-Palestinian Arab reaching out to Israelis. I do not white-wash Israeli settlements or say that Islamophobic bigotry doesn’t exist among some members of the Jewish community. But I also acknowledge that Israel helped Syrians when the world abandoned them and that much of the hate toward Israel comes from Russia, Assad, and Iran’s attempts to rally support for their empire. I acknowledge CIJA for being extremely helpful when I reached out. I learned that many of my non-Arab allies weren’t friends at all. They hate Israel more than they loved Arabs; they are simply antisemites riding on the coattails of our tears.

FTAC – Totalitarian Propaganda Environment – A Note

The refugee residents are boxed in primarily by their information environments that are deeply cordoned, enforced, and sustained by a smorgasbord of powerful handlers — family and state enterprises — whose intentions and power are enforced by violence.

Khaled Mashaal and Ismail Haniyeh are reported to be billionaires today (Mashaal’s wealth specifically estimated to range between $2.5 and $5 billion). Khamenei’s “Setad” conglomerate, built partially on the theft of Iranian private property belonging to persons that could be targeted by the theokleptocracy, has today an estimated valuation of about $90 billion. The KSA and Qatar elements appear also to have within their range elements resistant to regulation when it comes to “donations” to Hamas or ISIS (reference: http://www.acc-co.com/content.asp?ContentId=598).

So there’s loose money, and most likely, some of that finds its way into “solidarity” type agitprop and anti-Semitic libel.

The head of the “Neturei Karta”, often trotted out by the regime in Iran, was noted to have been paid $50,000 annually by Tehran to have his group do their thing, i.e., Tehran pays to put on an evil show, and the extent to which it maintains or pays agents, whether through Hezbollah or in other organizations, isn’t something I’ve yet found on the web.

Adding post-Soviet totalitarian flavor to this may be Putin’s reversion to a feudal governing model for Russia. The FSB today employs more staff per capita than the old KGB, and following from its KGB roots also promotes state-controlled media and state-based lying. Frankly. Iran’s VEVAK has been also off the radar of the western press, but it too may be overwhelming in scale, at minimum internally to enforce the will of the regime as it exploits the state.


As the alternative histories of Gaza and Ramallah, if not other geopolitical space, fractures against histories carefully culled with integrity, the information operations of autocratic states should become more transparent and widely known.  As lies are told to hide things and get things, things that have been hidden nonetheless surface with time and things that have been stolen — including life itself — also come to light in the responsible historian’s accounting.

Addendum

Also as regards beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors, much in the middle east and elsewhere may be complicated by the separation of loyalty (as to a crime family) and integrity (as to mom, apple pie, and the American way). Nothing’s perfect. However, where the Islamic Small Wars are concerned, whether ‘the masses” or the element in power, many prove that they would rather embrace a loyal lie than attempt to live with an uncomfortable truth. The distillation for this predicament may be “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. The want of survival, literally, life, may make fear of a capricious power a better choice than courage before the same.

FTAC – A Note on Approaching Fascist Movements Across Four Dimensions

Let me suggest four parts or elements that get the machinery working:

1. “Malignant Narcissism” / “Civilizational Narcissism” / relatives of “Narcissistic Personality Disorder” / “Bipolar Disorders” (“grandiose, messianic delusion”) –> each of the labels may represent a straying of innate human energy plus some craziness. The application to conflicts within the “Islamic Small Wars” context should be apparent with some meditation but outside of that, the same applies to variants of “National Socialist” presence, e.g., Putin in Russia, Jobbik in Hungary.

2. “Cultural Poetics and Social Grammar” — words do have a power and poison put in the ears or set before the eyes gets into children very early in the development of language plus self-concept. Good adults are careful with what they impart to their children, and, perhaps, good politicians must be careful with their words, but bad parents and bad politicians — there are lots of “BadDaddy’s” — may have cause to hide something shameful in themselves, to deflect attention away from themselves, to keep on stage a glorious image of themselves in the eyes of others, starting with their children.

3. Ideological Political Programming — the conservative’s abhorrence of dhimmi status, poll taxes, state discrimination speaks to that and may make something of a match between old Stalinist Soviet practices and some notes in Islam that seek the transformation of whole populations using central absolute authority and political torque to do it.

4. Cultural linguistics or language behavior –and as behavior, this may differ from “poetics” (the arrangements of symbols that make language possible). When we listen, when we read: how much do we memorize, parrot, ingest and sustain as stable? How much do we create, invent, question?

When Jews greet “The Binding of Isaac” (“The Akedah”, and bear with me on Isaac), a minority opinion notes that perhaps Abraham should have talked back to God (!) instead of setting off to carry out His instructions without hesitation.

Listen and obey? Listen and question?

Narcissism, cultural programming, political programming, and language behavior as behavior (we’re part of as wild a species as any) would be the four anchors of any approach or analysis of ISIS, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Hezbollah.

Notably, both Putin and Khamenei operate deeply piratical regimes beneath the cloaks of nationalism and religiosity. They have different trajectories as persons and as representatives of very different states, but they are similar in the pursuit and maintenance of absolute power — absolute control, as if from God — and they apply the same sets of tools for doing that.


I fear overdoing the knowledge part of this kind of view for the fascism it might inspire, if as much has not happened already in the intellectual warrens of governments invested in part in social control.  However, considering the Loud Fascism evident in the wild and the necessity of reducing the same in number and force, the above suggests four useful ways of approaching rogue leaders, their psychology, and their movements.

Hungary Goes That-A-Fascist-Way – Washington “Canaries” Chirp Warnings

Citing as models Singapore, China, India, Turkey and Russia, Mr. Orban added: “We have to abandon liberal methods and principles of organizing a society, as well as the liberal way to look at the world.”

The Hungarian leader traced his extraordinary conclusion to the global financial crisis, which he said had exposed the weakness of Western societies and mandated “a race to invent a state that is most capable of making a nation successful.” He was particularly scathing about the United States, claiming that “the strength of American soft power is deteriorating, because liberal values today incorporate corruption, sex and violence.”

3. Call German Prime Minister Angela Merkel

conditions, as well as the need for Troika
policies to blunt the suffering caused by
austerity and to defuse the appeal of
extremism; and b) coordinating policies on
Hungary.

4. Instruct the Director of National Intelligence
to investigate allegations of Russian and
Iranian financial or other support of
European far-right parties and present a
classified assessment of whether the
Kremlin is attempting to use such parties to
undermine the European Union or thwart
further NATO expansion. Release an
unclassified version to Congress and the
public.

5. At the North Atlantic Council meeting at the
2014 NATO Summit, express concern
about the rise of neo-fascist parties in
Europe and its impact on security and good
governance in NATO member countries and
the strength of the Alliance. Instruct the U.S.
Ambassador to NATO and senior military
officials to raise these concerns—especially
with regard to Hungary and Greece—with
their European counterparts.

Off-the-cuff and fast blogging brought “canaries in the cave’ to mind, but in actuality the editorial board of The Washington Post and the downtown think-tank Human Rights First have voices far greater than metaphorical canaries in coal mines.  However, as with the lesser birds, they are both sending a warning and should be heard loud and clear.

When referencing “the dictator Putin-Assad-Khamenei”, I had for a while to note the other axis of power that was Putin-Yanukovych.  Yanukovych’s now long gone from Ukraine (online, we are all living dog years [more animals, egads]) but the principle remains: the despots know how to gang up on the democratic among souls, and in league, they are force with which to be reckoned.

I wonder if in Syria, Bashar the Butcher al-Assad didn’t give al-Nusra and the young ISIS a break in order to clear the field of the moderate and ensure his war would leave one despot, preferably himself, or another standing, which would suit defending the indefensible principle that is “political absolutism”.

Regarding Iranian and Russian sabotage, potential or real, of NATO, a review of Turkey’s position in relation to fascist Islamism and the Islamic State, which is using for its headquarters Turkey’s embassy in Mosul, Iraq, would seem also in order.

Palestinian Leader Mudar Zahran: “Most Gazans Have Had Enough With Hamas.”

Jordanian Palestinian leader Mudar Zahran has been arguing for years for a revolutionary version of the “Jordanian Option”, the idea that the Palestinians should be absorbed by and governed by Jordan, an idea pursued by Yasser Arafat with disastrous consequences, but which in Zahran’s vision promotes a democratic pro-Semitic Jordan.

As King Abdullah II of Jordan would have to abdicate to get to the first leg of such an adjustment, Zahran generally argues his case from London.

Nonetheless, with Palestinian bona fides, Zahran has stepped out of the box that keeps the “middle east conflict” oscillating between temporary accommodation and relative quiet and then the rounds of brutal violence unleashed by the passions fueled by Arab hate in some proportion of the refugee populations.  The dictator generally boasts — and being delusional may believe — that everyone is behind him (and everyone loves him too), but the more level-headed among empiricists may rightly query that boast: truly, provably, how many constituents within the mafia state of theofascist Hamas deeply hate and resent its existence and its power over their lives?

As all autocracies are no-go zones for honest pollsters, no one really knows.

However, with this “different kind of war”, states share in their enmity reliance on general communications networks and devices and word gets in and word gets out — and then it moves quickly.

So one may take it on Mudar Zahran’s word, “Most Gazans Have Had Enough With Hamas”, until Gazans are free of Hamas and free to speak freely.

What I Have Said About the Jews

In the free world, talent -- editors, graphic artists, researchers, writers -- gravitate toward the organizations that suit their interests and values. The result: high integrity and highly reliable reportage and both responsible and thoughtful reasoning.

This is not to suggest that partisan presses don't exist or that propaganda doesn't exist in the west, but any reader possessed of critical thinking ability and genuine independence -- not bought, not programmed -- is certainly free to evaluate the works of earnest reporters and scholars.
