The tweeted text follows (with a few hash marks replaced by standard typed English and adjustments for sense) so as to give expression its more persistent showcase in online publishing (a tweet may be noticed and read but briefly as X compiles rapidly and destroys focus as efficiently as it confronts its audience with virtually limitless attention-seeking stimulus).

The mirroring couple Trump and Putin appear to be between states in their relationship. Trump, at this point, might wish to be free of the boss of the Russian Mafia State (being blackmailed by kompromat might account for that), and he’s been presented with an opportunity involving the post-Cold War clean-up of the former Soviet/post-Soviet spheres of alliance, control, and influence and the severing of the link that has been for a long time Moscow-Havana-Caracas.

While Donald may expect accolades for his conquest of a former Soviet communist satellite, I think he’s proceeding from a different compact with Putin involving the feudal-medieval mafia mentality each has come to represent and he would just as soon make a “gangster’s paradise” out of his invasion of Venezuela. That would help make sense of his low-to-high pattern in pardons of criminals who have injured the United States (e.g., the January 6, 2021 insurrectionists; the recent pardon of drug kingpin Juan Orlando Hernandez) and his penchant for locating and targeting mineral wealth from Greenland to Ukraine and working “deals” in which he involves business associates and family in a process that may be referred to as the development of his own personal empire.

Is he betraying his “handler” Putin?

While it looks that way at a glance, Trump in fact may be turning East-West Rivalry on its head and setting up to rule and plunder the wealth of the western hemisphere while leaving Europe and its interests to his rival.

How Americans view the Trump-Putin relationship (mirroring) may be tempered by both political bias (partisan drift) and the American constituency’s general detachment from foreign affairs and international relations. Up to this point, America’s professional business and political managers have understood their having a uniquely American mission from the 20th Century perspective at least. As an American People, the same have negated the power of kings, fought fascism and imperialism worldwide, and tempered totalitarianism as understood from witness of leaders pledged each to the support of his ruling Communist Party.

In fact, the winning of the Cold War had been framed as having beaten Communism, not a practical and ruthless KGB driven and managed police state that could be turned toward serving a dictatorship– a private patronage system–devoted solely to its own aggrandizement, ambition, greed, and security.

So this round is different.

Trump and Putin represent an archaic criminal mentality associated with the malign narcissism and related emotional needs of each, i.e., the equivalent in outlook of what would be today criminal medieval powers engaged in continuous competition for territory and tribute, and then–with the concept of modern feudal-medieval mafia established–related unbridled and unhinged methods in power and enterprise.

About the Art

The bookends tell in part the Trump-Putin story as one dates to 2016 and has since become an iconic as well as ironic statement about the two statesmen. The other has been captured in relation to Trump’s second-term meeting of the two in Alaska. In the way of a fast-paced meme-spilling web, the composites between reflect, of course, my conclusions about the two and their archaic views of dominion and sovereignty–and both lawless men have reserved for themselves as principle a deeply archaic, deranged, and mentally and morally sick “right” to destroy with their power persons and property alike with impunity. One has ordered the piloting of missiles into apartment buildings and malls; the other threatens to take over the western hemisphere while fueling his own corrupt system of private patronage. Neither should represent anyone’s future governance–not for Russians and never (again) for Americans.

Russia’s Nuclear Plant Related Accusation Against Ukraine

So far, Ukraine has not confirmed any attack on Russia’s nuclear facility in Kursk and media claims only that a shot down drone — where was it going? — caused a fire at the site. There’s a difference, of course, between an attack and a damaged aircraft falling from the sky. While the character of Russian disinformation and the “fog of war” muddy conclusions, there should be no question about Putin’s intent to leverage his nuclear “option” into some realpolitik strength in position position while every other indicator coming off the Ukraine-Russia War suggests Moscow has in fact been losing in every measurable dimension. Its oil producing capacity has been reduced by 13 percent causing prices at Russia’s pumps to skyrocket accordingly; Russian casualties since the 2022 invasion have surpassed one million; and the cost of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine appears to be producing Putin’s archaic-barbaric nation-as-fief an estimated $172 billion in expenses for 2025 (AI mentions $450 billion in total accrued costs–see verbatim text in the AI section of this post).

From the above, one may suggest that Vladimir Putin must be experiencing a bad day every day or, alternatively, enjoying a deluded day in a theater all his own–one may then wonder how his inner circle feels about that.

As noted here years ago, Putin’s fear of public humiliation and shame drives frame and maintain his own image as unassailable, courageous, and heroic — see “Why Putin Won’t Stop Until Stopped” (January 20, 2023). His problem: reality won’t accept his claims of successes — none to date have proven immune to Ukrainian drone push-back and other defensive measures — nor any denials of culpability. He embarked on the conquest of Ukraine under false premises in 2014, and while he annexed Crimea without a shot fired — and nothing more than diplomatic posturing from Washington for resistance — he’s just not getting further with anything he does. Russia’s admirals and generals may note well the fate of his once-proud Black Sea Fleet:

At the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Ukraine lacked a naval force capable of meeting the threat. What little it had didn’t last long. To prevent the Russians from capturing it, the Ukrainians scuttled their one major warship. Its other naval vessels were damaged, destroyed, or captured (“Russia’s navy looks to be stretched thin after getting battered by Ukraine and losing a key port, Western officials say” — by Jake Epstein, Business Insider, August 13, 2025).

As Putin’s fortunes and prospects continue to decline in the face of western resolve (even without the fulsome resolve of American will while the nation weathers an administration whose loyalties to the American secular democratic republic appear doubtful), he’ll strive to sustain his illusion of the absolute control of Russia through the deadly and grinding machinery of the “mafia state” that he has built around himself, a state that may fear him more than it admires or loves him.

Russian Nuclear Accusations Against Ukraine

Russia’s nuclear accusations against Ukraine are primarily disinformation campaigns, such as the late 2022 claim that Ukraine was preparing to use a “dirty bomb” on Ukrainian territory. More recently, on August 24, 2025, Russia accused Ukraine of launching a drone attack on the Kursk nuclear power plant, causing a fire and minor damage to a transformer, though radiation levels remained normal and no casualties were reported. These accusations are often seen as propaganda aimed at discrediting Ukraine and justifying Russia’s actions in the ongoing conflict. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

Accusations of a “Dirty Bomb” (October 2022) [1, 2, 9, 10]

  • Russia’s claim: In late October 2022, Russia accused Ukraine of planning to detonate a radioactive “dirty bomb” on Ukrainian soil and warned international partners about it, according to The New York Times.
  • Ukraine’s response: Ukraine, in turn, accused Russia of secretly building dirty bombs at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.
  • International view: U.S. intelligence officials considered the claims to be a Russian tactic, possibly as a “bluff” or a way to employ its “escalate to de-escalate” nuclear doctrine.

Drone Attack on a Nuclear Plant (August 2025)

  • Russia’s claim: Russia accused Ukraine of launching drone attacks, including one that struck the Kursk nuclear power plant. [3, 5]
  • Damage and effects: The attack caused a fire and damaged a transformer, forcing a reduction in the power plant’s capacity. However, the fire was quickly extinguished, with no casualties and normal radiation levels reported. [4, 5]
  • Ukraine’s response: Ukraine did not immediately comment, but a Ukrainian center called the accusations “typical methods” of Russian propaganda. [6]
  • International reaction: The UN’s nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, was aware of the reports but had not independently confirmed them, emphasizing that all nuclear facilities must be protected. [4, 5]

Reductions in Russian Oil Refining Capacity

Note: some bolded italics added–>

Ukraine’s long-range drone attacks have significantly degraded Russia’s oil refining capacity, knocking out approximately 13% of the country’s processing capability since early August 2025, leading to elevated fuel prices and production disruptions. The attacks have targeted major refineries and infrastructure like the Druzhba pipeline, with repairs complicated by Western sanctions that restrict access to specialized equipment and prolong outages. This campaign is a strategic effort to undermine Russia’s economy and its ability to fund the war, as evidenced by the soaring wholesale gasoline prices and potential reliance on government subsidies for Russian energy firms. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Key Impacts on Russian Oil Production: [1, 2, 3]

  • Reduced Refining Capacity: Around 13% of Russia’s total refining capacity has been knocked out, with estimates suggesting about 44.3 million tons of annual processing capability disrupted.
  • Prolonged Outages: Major facilities like the Volgograd, Samara, and Ryazan refineries have been rendered inoperable, with repairs expected to take months due to a lack of specialized parts, exacerbated by sanctions.
  • Supply Chain Disruption: The Druzhba pipeline was also struck, causing a temporary shutdown and raising concerns in Central Europe.
  • Economic Strain: Russian energy firms face reduced revenues, strained profit margins, and increased dependence on government bailouts.

Strategic Context:

  • Targeted Campaign: The strikes are a coordinated effort by Ukraine’s intelligence services (GUR and SSU) to dismantle Russia’s energy infrastructure, which they view as a crucial economic engine for its war efforts. [4, 5, 6]
  • Shift from Previous Ceasefire: This intensified focus on oil facilities marks a departure from a previous understanding that limited mutual attacks on civilian energy infrastructure. [5]
  • Economic Warfare: By targeting the oil sector, Ukraine aims to cripple Russia’s wartime finances and force a slowdown in oil production. [4]

Consequences:

  • Soaring Fuel Prices: Wholesale gasoline prices have surged sharply, with AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline prices reaching record highs in August 2025. [3, 7]
  • Market Instability: The ongoing disruptions and the financial strain on energy companies are reflected in underperforming stock valuations for firms like Rosneft and Gazprom. [2]
  • Russia’s Vulnerability: The attacks highlight the fragility of Russia’s centralized energy infrastructure and expose its struggles to protect against deep-penetration drone swarms. [2, 8]

The Cost to Russia of its War with Ukraine

The figure of $172 billion is Russia’s projected military expenditure for 2025, not a total cost to date, and represents about 8% of its GDP. While this isn’t a specific “war cost,” the Russian war in Ukraine has other significant economic consequences, including substantial direct military spending, which may have exceeded $132 billion through 2024 and reached over $450 billion by some estimates, along with broader economic costs like GDP losses and long-term effects on the economy. [1, 2, 3]

Breakdown of Costs and Projections:

  • 2025 Military Expenditure: Russia’s planned military spending for 2025 is around $170-$172 billion, accounting for approximately 8% of its GDP. [1]
  • Direct Military Spending: Some estimates place Russia’s direct military spending on the war at $132 billion or more by the end of 2024. [2]
  • Total Direct War Cost: One source indicates the total direct costs of the war for Russia have exceeded $450 billion, though this is a broader figure encompassing all direct expenses. [3]
  • GDP Losses: Beyond direct military costs, Russia has also incurred significant losses to its GDP as a result of the war, with estimates for 2022 alone falling between $81 billion and $104 billion. [2]

Context and Broader Impacts: [4]

  • Economic Impact: The war has led to Russia’s focus on a “war economy” that prioritizes military spending, which drives short-term growth but undermines long-term economic health.
  • Labour Shortages: The increased militarization of the workforce contributes to severe labor shortages.
  • Inflation: Wage growth in Russia has outpaced productivity, fueling inflation.
  • Sustainability: This approach creates a narrow and brittle economic foundation, making Russia’s long-term economic trajectory unsustainable.

<–A possibly final five posts on my X wall published prior to the latest Trump inauguration: General Milley’s speech on the American Oath of Office; a black tile for a black day; Special Counsel Jack Smith’s parting shot, fully justified, on the January 6, 2021 election interference indictment; and Donald Trump’s promise to his “beautiful Christians” prior to the 2024 national election: “It’ll be fixed. It’ll be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore my beautiful Christians . . . in four years you don’t have to vote again, we’ll have it fixed so good you’re not going to have to vote.”

Intellectual Battle Fatigue

Badgering Trumpian insults to intelligence take their toll on X as may the wayward convictions of the nation’s far white right bigots and “Christian” nationalist zealots so far sunk in their Weltanschauung as to have imprisoned themselves in archaic principles discarded by the nobility of Europe–and of the American South–centuries ago–reference: Thirty Years War, Peace of Westphalia, American Civil War. After all that . . . the latest Ketaminic Sieg Heil salute to Adolph Hitler and remnant white supremacists worldwide:

Ill Trumpolini

On Amazon: The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President by Bandy X. Lee, Robert Jay Lifton, et al., New York City: Thomas Dunne Books, 2017 (not yet acquired for my own library).

On BackChannels: “Malignant Narcissistic Process Distilled“; “Trump Delusional“; “A Last Note About the Malignarc“.

Contrary to popular belief: Frances, Allen. “I helped write the manual for diagnosing mental illness. Donald Trump doesn’t meet the criteria.” STAT, September 6, 2007. However, read the author’s statement about Trump’s mentality:

Trump is an undisputed poster boy for narcissism. He demonstrates in pure form every single symptom described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) criteria for narcissistic personality disorder, which I wrote in 1978. But lots of successful people are extremely narcissistic without being mentally ill — think most celebrities, many politicians, and a fair percentage of writers, artists, lawyers, doctors, and professors. To qualify for narcissistic personality disorder, an individual’s selfish, unempathetic preening must be accompanied by significant distress or impairment. Trump certainly causes severe distress and impairment in others, but his narcissism doesn’t seem to affect him that way.

On X, I’ve asserted the following for guidance: “delusional, grandiose, messianic ideation absent of normal boundaries and limits, i.e., the parameters of normal conscience.” If that’s not part of the DSM, I’d think the volume inadequate for addressing “Malignant Narcissism”, for every related–and above bolded term–may be searched on the web. Also as regards the narcissism of the healthy, the better natured and reparative in character may deserve or have earned a positive regard for the egoism inseparable from their own quest or struggle for success, i.e., the presence of a reparative narcissism along the lines of Maslow’s healthy competence-seeking behavior and self-esteem. When we’re good–or in the vicinity of excellence in our arts and professions–we many not need the limitless public adoration and validation that defines “Narcissistic Supply” and the neediness of the malign.

For additional curiosity related to Donald Trump’s persistent character, one may have a look into “Sociopathy“. Also worth a gander: “Anomie“; and on the other and brighter side of mental health appreciation, evaluation, and judgment–“Abraham Maslow“; “Positive Psychology“.

Has the United States of America been infiltrated, invaded, overpowered by elements either foreign to it, foreign to its character. or in fact opposed to its American Constitutional ideals and intentions?

American Character and Integrity Matter — Truth Matters

Down every avenue of honest nonpartisan inquiry, one finds President Trump a traitor to the United States of America, a convicted felon who has only evaded trials involving American identity and American national security as indicated by indictments for election interference, classified documents abuse, and attempted election fixing, and yet, as of yesterday, he has once again been handed the immense power of the American Presidency. Now comes a new question: have American governments and more brave and earnest American politicians as well as America’s most spirited artists, community leaders, journalists, investigators–all of whom may prefer American truth to American bullshit–the power to defend American Democracy against an apparent usurper and a tyranny of the “majority”? And Trump is a so-called “American President” who has made this bald promise in effect to all Americans: “It’ll be fixed. It’ll be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore my beautiful Christians . . . in four years you don’t have to vote again, we’ll have it fixed so good you’re not going to have to vote” (YouTube video, Turning Point Action, July 27, 2024).

American Community

Americans should be American in spirit as well as by geopolitical fact, but what an “American” is today appears questionable. Gone: an all-white polity; forgotten: E Pluribus Unum. The latest generations of American Natives and Native Americans may all claim to have been born in the United States of America, and whether happy with that or not . . . that’s just a fact of life. Whoever we are, we are all here. And perhaps now we need a New American Community, one that affirms its ethics, morals, principles, and values–and some of that may need updating and redefinition to suit the full complement of the nation–and one that rejects the racist and religious wet dreams best laid to rest in some dimming recollection of archaic medieval attitudes, beliefs, and practices.

We are Americans, and our power is not all white, nor need it ever be so again. There is no “Great Replacement” . . . .

Ol’ Whitey–and everyone else–“got around”.

So while we Americans think about who we are NOW and what we should be and mean to be–and not what may be engineered and forced on us by coercion, fraud, and force or the MAGAdumb–well, that has been the character of our Convicted Felon in Chief–we might have to accept a little bit of Moscow’s white nationalist crap at the top of what really has been a long dismissed and lost–and good riddance–America.

X Social Network

Countless hours, posts in the thousands (probably–too many for me to count)–for what? A conversation in public; trolling ladies with barely an X-presence; trolling fakes probably making up lists suited to their own derangement; a great lot of follows–really: the best notables in diplomacy and political science and related fields (most don’t know me, but I’m proud to have come to know of them)–and a pretty good base (still under one thousand) of followers–and God bless each and everything one of them. Apart from that “action”, lol, I live alone in a library. Earnest live and evolving conversations seem few to nil and far between or not expected at all.

A Dark Mirror in Language II

Given a decent theory of the process by which malignant narcissists become so, it follows that denial covers the initiating or repeated narcissistic mortification–whatever imparted the humiliation never happened–and false claims and other lies abet the invention of an undamaged unassailable courageous-heroic self and related projected image. That image becomes the narcissists identity and self-concept with all contrary evidence dismissible–and the same may be and must be accepted by the narcissist’s agents, associates, employees, envoys, family, and friends.

Before one starts playing, “Who’s a narcissists?”–“You’re a narcissist!”–No, you are the narcissist!” and so on, it may be noted that the malignant narcissist has rejected one social reality, that which caused him emotional damage, for another in which he may not only play the hero in his own show, but it’s he who creates the show as an illusion in which innumerable others become party to his madness. The (#)”MaligNarc”–as I refer to the type on X–creates his own theater, and that stage and his centrality in it become his reality. This differs from the normal pride on may take in one’s “powers” as defined by one’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and talents plus energies over time, i.e., the normal endowment of a healthy person. Add a few course corrections and character-shaping habits good or bad for both a normal and successful or, alas, less so but honest sense of reality.

In my first approach to “A Dark Mirror in Language”, I relayed with it the context of Russia’s war of conquest and cultural annihilation taking place in Ukraine. My intent here is to produce a short description not attached to a present–and soon to be historical–fact of life.

First composed on X:

For the narcissist, there is a dark mirror in language. He looks at his reflection in the pond, sees the sky behind him, and he believes he is gazing up toward heaven-and he goes on living in his own reflection.

The beautiful Narcissus of Greek mythology had perhaps youthful cause to enjoy his singular existence and self-absorbed obsession, and before even the existence of the myth the storytellers the loving grace to see in the plant the poetic cause of its form.

The malignant “Narcissus”, more Dorian Gray than innocent youth, may have other cause to view his life as seen in a mirror but lived in the black cold water beneath, a literal “underworld” for fear of the hazards of the reality around him that first imparted his own traumatic humiliation and shame. How much more fit to be admired, agreed with, obeyed for possessing the power to ruthlessly destroy any detractor and richly reward the properly admiring.

Behold the malignant narcissus, criminal, degrading, and ignoble but speaking and strutting as if an admired king, appropriately groomed, wise in the world, and responsive to his cultivated portion of the world’s most responsible advisors, that is a good king and leader, a philosopher-king and an admirable son of the language and soil of his birth. The malignant would not be so lucky as to be authentic but rather presents a fraud, imposter, usurper whose chief recommendations may be ill-gotten wealth and related criminal ruthlessness.

The Malignant Narcissist Lies

As noted, the malignant narcissist needs must lie to cover the memory of his own early and traumatic instance or continuing experience of humiliation and shame. The monster has options:

-Baseless Accusations, Defamations, Slanders
-Claims Without Merit
-Conspiracy to Commit Crimes
-Defamations, Libels, Slanders
-Deflections of Attention In Relation to Crimes
-Denials of Culpability
-Disinformation

Malignant and Reparative Narcissism

With the advent of affordable and popular “broadband Internet”, I chose to “see” the world in English through the foreign publications published in that lingua franca. The experience has been as inseparable from the study of conflict as it has been edifying and expansive. One desktop : one mind. In relation to conflict and malignant narcissism, the theme most evident across the world’s conflicts–we have a bloody busy and busy bloody world everywhere (may most–one would wish all–avoid the worst)–has been what I characterize as “Medieval v. Modern”, i.e., politically absolute systems of power poised against systems of distributed political power–so: Absolute Feudal-Medieval Cultures v. Democratic Modern Cultures. While all private businesses are in their own way absolute, feudal, and medieval in their cultural and social structures, generally speaking, the compacts with governments and the interests of governments have become increasingly integrated and sophisticated in ways requiring greater levels of cooperation in respect to communications and trade. There are no “globalists”, and we are all well defined by where we have been born–the culture of our birth and our language–and who we have become by our own design and by the forces–cultural, financial, political, social–that are a part of our existence individually. In the world of the once mortified malignant personality–someone taught him or her a lesson, I guess–there may be only defense. Lies cover shame; money puts up barriers of all sorts and helps make friends–or hire greater defensive talent–as well. Somehow in our natural mix, we are not all so damaged, or if so have sought solace and strength elsewhere to become more contributing in life than destructive.

Note: I regard myself as reparative and blame that on isolation and spoiling, an odd combination which history I will not divulge, but I may say I’ve had a life with books, cameras, and musical instruments, and being able to say that (close to 70) and for the time being comfortable (at home in an apartment), there’s not much room for anger and complaint. Would that I could change the past with the potential natural decade or two ahead, but have for late stage wealth the ownership of my time. Discretionary time. Free time. And freedom of that sort let’s us do things we choose for our own esteem or pleasure.

Back to theme (my “weave”) . . . .

Take it as a trope: modernity worldwide already involves advanced complex integrated large and sensitive systems demanding interpersonal and interstate cooperation in the appreciation of their existence and related benefits.

In fact, international laws and standards apply and bear down on absolutely every facet of business and related exchange while the space left to criminals, frauds, isolationists, and marauders grows smaller by the day. On the other hand, the presence of the malignant and their role in greater conflict and desperation appears to be growing, and all that really keeps the lid on, where that is possible, are the reparative. That’s a heady thing for me to say, but take mine as a voice from the sidelines. The greater in contribution have presence as responsible academics, diplomats, executives, and researchers who help everything else connect and work. They are modern people in a world engaged not only in trading across boundaries but in addressing a full suite of basic issues and challenges involving hazards and process that have as phenomenon–contagion, earthquakes, hurricanes–only biology or physics for what they do–never conscience. And then there are the malignant who in positions of power behave similarly to natural dangers in their absence of conscience. As a breed born accustomed to punishment, denying it, and holding power ruthlessly so as not to again suffer the same themselves, some become rather their own “forces of nature” acting wholly without conscience and devoid of compassion.

Name the capitals; note the closed, criminal, and dark; consider the malignant–always attacking because always cowardly, defensive, and weak–and consider the possibility that the modern and those who would be modern engage in repairs and the securing of their work primarily to establish a greater good that is not about power and wealth so much as the encouragement and greening of a healthy planet at peace.

Well, lookee there — maybe it does look okey dokey after all.

Still, and in any case, I tire of almost tirelessly publishing the same messages over and over to the different contexts created by recipients (who need my [blush] data or insight). And then–poof! The message drowns in the digital whitewater cascading in wild unabridged concert beside it and afterward.

Would it help to give it its own sustained patch on the Internet?

And would it be easier for me–or you–to reference as and when needed the next time #BRICS lays claim to some nonexistent ethical, humanist, moral, or spiritual superiority in matters in which it actually operates with violence against language and against humanity?

“IRT – Images Research Tropes” will be a new category here and one whittled down to a single message accompanied by the X hash tags used to characterize and promote the same across the web community.

A Last Note About The Malignarc

In the varied telling of the myth, Narcissus plays the very flower of youth in its most self-admiring phase . . . except the young man cannot look away from himself, and so in admiration of his own reflection drowns, starves, or suicides his way to death and becomes the flower whose name we know.

The Malignant Narcissist — “the malignarc” hereafter — differs within with the memory of a full-on assault on his own good regard and self-concept, an episode referred to in the literature at “Narcissistic Mortification“. For health, the same covers or denies the memory and moves on with the invention of an undamaged and unassailable courageous-heroic self. As such, the narcissist–so motivated–can never be imperfect or wrong. To prove himself–or defend against a repeat of his own initial humiliation–he then embarks on the manipulation of the perception of others, either to do damage–as with “gaslighting“–or to otherwise deride his competitors and critics while elevating himself to a stature beyond the reach of others seen as imperfect, ordinary, and weak. And so the “Malignant Narcissist“ becomes for himself and the seduction of others plainly villainous to those who can see him as he is while for those captive by force, fraud, compulsion, intimidation, or the promise of patronage, he’s one big daddy–and only he alone may raise them to glory.

On what is today old Twitter’s unbridled cesspool “X” operated by billionaire Elon Musk, I’ve tried to produce in abbreviated form a few cogent observations.

Malignant Narcissistic Signal

As a trope: “delusional, grandiose, messianic ideation absent of normal boundaries and limits, i.e., the parameters of normal conscience“–as much has been my distillation of behavior and speech of what I have seen of Messrs. Trump and Putin–and if they are not “Malignant Narcissists”, the category does not exist.

The “Malignarc” Elevated by Crime and Shielded by Lies

As nature covers injuries with repairs, so the malignarc covers painful memory with denials matched by the invention of normal experiences (that may not have been so normal in real life) and the emergence of a person of heroic quality, i.e., an invented undamaged self. The damage that had been done cannot be discussed, has been dismissed and erased from everyday memory, and if press, the malignarc cannot be honest about it.

Don’t expect confessions.

Do expect crimes (fraud, especially) and lies: baseless accusations; defamations, falsehoods, and frames to deride others; deflections and denials of culpability; fabrications of reality to make events or persons appear as preferred rather than as they may be–or may have been (related: “historical revisionism”; “political theater”; “Potemkinism”); omissions or revisions of discordant facts and histories; projection of the malignarc’s own evil intentions to his targets (related to “baseless accusations”).

As leaders, expect from malignarcs efforts to control casual or popular perception locally, at least, or internationally if that stature has been reached. Expect also as part of Mass Perceptual Control censorship; discrediting operations; dismissal, jailing, or elimination of critics, all commencing beneath a darkening clouds of severe political repression.

The Drowning

In the mirroring pond’s surface, the malignarc sees not only himself but the world around and above himself in reflection, and in the effort to join that world, one perceived as better than the one that did him some damage early in life–perhaps this will become part of a new and modern mythos–he will choose to drown in its cold dark inversion of personal, political, and social reality. He enters his own imagined world, one he wishes to make real, and everything he believes and says may be taken as true–and everything he’s been shown or told has been a lie!

And if you don’t believe him, get lost . . . move on . . . before the same takes an interest in your destruction.

And if you do believe him–better: believe in him–well then, there’s work to be done, but first . . . your pledge of absolute obedience and respect.

An observer would note an excessive adoration and validation given the Great Leader by his minions.

A psychologist would call the same “Narcissistic Supply“.

A grounded and responsible citizen, police, or politician would express concern, warning or alarm.

American Traitor, Donald John Trump, malignant narcissism, political psychology

This much must be understood about Donald Trump: he may actually believe his own bullshit.

Within the framework of the Malignant Narcissistic Process, the necessity of lying and the related greater manipulation of others becomes clear: the malignant narcissist lies to cover over emotional damage and put in its place an undamaged and unassailable heroic self. The suspect felon in the courtroom may well believe in concert with his own invention that the proceedings are fake, politically motivated, and fixed–and he, so brave and glorious, should be out campaigning for the next Presidency of the United States of America. Now bent, delusional, and twisted, Donald John Trump, four-time indicted felony suspect, may know where he is physically and resent the power detaining him, holding him in trial, but he has no apprehension as to what he has done before the law, to others, and to his own life.

America has no king and doesn’t want one.

The foremost notable argument against having a king has come to us from Thomas Paine in his pamphlet Common Sense (1775-6). Says Wikipedia, “Writing in clear and persuasive prose, Paine collected various moral and political arguments to encourage common people in the Colonies to fight for egalitarian government. It was published anonymously on January 10, 1776,[2] at the beginning of the American Revolution and became an immediate sensation.”

All may read today online the foundational expressions of America’s assumptions, ethics, principles, and values: Declaration of Independence; 1789 Constitution and Amendments; etc.

Put Yourself (Briefly, Please) in Trump’s Mind

Put yourself in Trump’s mind-https://conflict-backchannels.com/2022/07/10/malignant-narcissistic-process-distilled/. Most of your life has been spent in the shadow of a traumatic “narcissistic mortification” that you do not wish to experience ever again–and you determine you never will. First, you forget about it, pack it away, didn’t happen; then, you come out swinging, a good guy, unassailable, courageous, heroic–and to prove it, you will roll the dice! 🙂 (awful cliche). Your realpolitik is pretty tough–nasty environment–but your image is gold and you are in with all of the in-crowds! You brag up a storm; snow the bankers; charm and screw the subcontractors. The better part of human nature and prudence takes its course and you need cash, a lot of it, and it turns out you have been noticed all along, boychik.

Lucky you!

You have a “roof” and a dragon (unlimited “resources” long before “Game of Thrones”) and plenty of “narcissistic supply”. Whether or not you can pay the freight or stay out of trouble, the high is like no other–Y-O-U! own the world!

The Dragon wants to get you to take the both of you a little higher and, well, you are an executive and the very image of American gold-leafed success–just one more step.

How hard could it be?

We should know more about the lives–and demons–associated with healthy leaders, but the evil get our attention and we have powerful concept, methods, and tools for getting “behind the curtains” and finding what the malignant narcissist has tried to cover as well as avoid all of his life, i.e., his humiliation before authority.

So Trump sits in court, a “stable genius”–a horse’s ass for countless others–found out and subject to the control of power more powerful–also more possessed of integrity–than himself.

I think he knows he has been played for criminal political power–call it the #MoscowSystem for #PiratesMurderersAndThieves–and not only will millions of others not look at him as they once had but he may not look at himself as he once had. So he yawns in court. He’ll make noises about a “rigged game”, but he’s delusional, and it’s not–and the #AmericanPublic in vast majority knows that that, finally, is the truth.

What I Have Said About the Jews

My people, not that I speak for them, I nonetheless describe as a "global ethnic commune with its heart in Jerusalem and soul in the Land of Israel."

We have never given up on God, nor have we ever given up on one another.

Many things we have given up, but no one misses, say, animal sacrifice, and as many things we have kept, so we have still to welcome our Sabbath on Friday at sunset and to rest all of Saturday until three stars appear in the sky.

Most of all, through 5,773 years, wherever life has taken us, through the greatest triumphs and the most awful tragedies, we have preserved our tribal identity and soul, and so shall we continue eternally.

Anti-Semitism / Anti-Zionism = Signal of Fascism

I may suggest that anti-Zionism / anti-Semitism are signal (a little bit) of fascist urges, and the Left -- I'm an old liberal: I know my heart -- has been vulnerable to manipulation by what appears to me as a "Red Brown Green Alliance" driven by a handful of powerful autocrats intent on sustaining a medieval worldview in service to their own glorification. (And there I will stop).
One hopes for knowledge to allay fear; one hopes for love to overmatch hate.

Too often, the security found in the parroting of a loyal lie outweighs the integrity to be earned in confronting and voicing an uncomfortable truth.

Those who make their followers believe absurdities may also make them commit atrocities.

“Revisionism” is the most contemptible path that power takes to abet theft and hide shame by attempting to alter public perception of past events.

On Press Freedom, Commentary, and Journalism

In the free world, talent -- editors, graphic artists, researchers, writers -- gravitate toward the organizations that suit their interests and values. The result: high integrity and highly reliable reportage and both responsible and thoughtful reasoning.

This is not to suggest that partisan presses don't exist or that propaganda doesn't exist in the west, but any reader possessed of critical thinking ability and genuine independence -- not bought, not programmed -- is certainly free to evaluate the works of earnest reporters and scholars.
