The ascription of “escalation” to Israel is absurd given the behavior, character, and intentions demonstrated or stated by the regime in Tehran. The distance between that regime and the People of Iran may be measured through the turnstile that has been Evin Prison, lo these many years. To stand by and allow, enable, or encourage the cabal of billionaires to terrify not only Israel but the world beyond the middle east is to abet the Khamenei brother’s evil. BackChannels hasn’t “the answers” to what official Tehran has brought to humanity in Iran and elsewhere, but it has pursued and supported some ideas about dictators and their inability to restrain themselves — and no matter what the cost to others, their own subjugated constituents included.
